It’s easy to become overloaded with information when you first decide to try a wig. There are so many different varieties, styles, cuts and colors, where do you begin? Our stylists will determine the size of your head by measuring around the forehead, across the nape of your neck and around to the other side. By this means of measurement, most women are determined to have a head size of 21.5” to 22.5”. Children will measure at about 18” to 19.5”, and men at 22.5” to 24”. Wigs that are sized properly will feel better, not slip as much and look much more natural.
Step 2: Skin Color and Face Shape
Skin coloring and face shape are the next elements to consider in your wig purchase. If you are going for a natural look, the color of the wig hair would be only a few shades lighter to a few shades darker than your skin tone. Face shape is another critical factor to selecting wigs. Typically you will want to try to balance out the shape of your face with your hair style.
