Be Gentle!
What you want to keep in mind at any step of your wig care is to be gentle, first and foremost. Wig hair fibers are delicate, especially where they are sewn into the cap, and brushing or shampooing too aggressively can pull the fibers out of the cap. Before you comb or brush your wig, use your fingers to gently untangle any knots.
Once all the knots are out and the wig is detangled, grab your comb or brush. You want to use tools that are specially made for wigs. Curly or textured wigs will need a wide tooth comb, while straight wigs can take a tighter comb or brush. Start combing or brushing from the hair tips, slowing working your way higher up the wig towards the cap. Always use strokes that move down towards the hair tips.
Daily Maintenance
It’s essential to comb or brush your wig after EVERY wear. This will keep the wig from getting tangled, especially if you were sweating while wearing the wig. Maintaining your wig every day that you wear it will help keep it looking like new for as long as possible, and help you protect your investment!
